Cibinqo (Abrocitinib) is a prescription medication used to treat moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults. This medication is typically used when other treatments have been tried without success. Abrocitinib belongs to the class of medications called Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors. This medication blocks the enzyme called JAK, the enzyme that plays an important role in inflammation. Cibinqo reduces inflammation to relieve the symptoms of eczema by stopping this enzyme from working.

Side Effects and Precautions

The most common side effects of Cibinqo may include acne, allergic skin rash, bacterial skin infection, common cold, dizziness, fatigue, flu, headache, herpes simplex including cold sores, high blood pressure, increased level of creatinine phosphokinase, low platelet count, mouth and throat pain, nausea, pain in the stomach area, shingles, stomach flu, urinary tract infection, vomiting.

Seek emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction. Call your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects such as:
• Signs of cancer;
• Signs of a stroke;
• Signs of a blood clot;
• Symptoms of a heart attack;
• Symptoms of a serious infection

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Cibinqo if you are allergic to Abrocitinib or if you have any other allergies. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctors about your medical history and if you are being treated for an infection or if you have or ever had:
• An infection that keeps coming back;
• Diabetes, chronic lung disease, HIV, or a weak immune system;
• Hepatitis B or C;
• Live or have lived or traveled to certain parts of the country (such as the Ohio and Mississippi River valleys and the Southwest) where there is an increased chance for getting certain kinds of fungal infections;
• Shingles;
• TB or have been in close contact with someone who has TB

You should also inform your doctor if you are a current smoke or have smoked in the past or have:
• Eye problems;
• Had heart problems or stroke;
• Kidney or liver problems;
• Low platelet counts or white blood cell counts;
• Recently received or are scheduled to receive a vaccine. (you should not receive live vaccines while you are taking Cibinqo)

Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Abrocitinib and other medications. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant. It is unknown if this medication will harm an unborn baby. Pfizer has a pregnancy exposure registry to keep track of the health of you and your baby. Consult your doctor if you are breast-feeding.
