Bijuva (Estradiol Hemihydrate/Progesterone) is a prescription medication used by women to help reduce the symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Bijuva is a combination of estrogen and progesterone. The symptoms of menopause are caused by the body making less estrogen. Estradiol replaces the estrogen that your body normally produces. The Progestin in this medication helps to reduce the risk of uterus cancer which can be caused by using estrogen. This medication is for use only in women who has not had her uterus removed.

The common side effects of Bijuva may include breast tenderness, headache, pelvic pain, and vaginal bleeding or discharge.

• High levels of calcium in your blood;
