Usage

Minims Fluorescein (Fluorescein Sodium) is an over-the-counter ophthalmic medication used in diagnostic examinations, including detecting foreign bodies in the eye, detecting ophthalmic lesions, measuring intraocular pressure, and fitting hard contact lenses. It is a diagnostic stain containing Fluorescein Sodium as the active ingredient. It is also used in the treatment of patients with iritis or iridocyclitis. It works by numbing and staining the eyes' surface briefly and allowing the doctor to examine the eyes.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Minims Fluorescein are transient blurry vision, urticaria, allergic reaction, periorbital swelling, and rash around the eyes.

Stop using Minims Fluorescein and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Confusion or hallucination;
• Difficulty in opening the eyes;
• Worsening vision

Warnings and Interactions

If you are using another topical eye drop, administer Minims eye drops at least 30 minutes apart. Before you start using Minims Fluorescein, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Eye problems such as narrow-angle glaucoma or cataract;
• kidney problems;
• Liver problems;
• Wearing soft contact lenses

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is unknown if Minims fluorescein has harmful effects on an unborn baby. Inform your ophthalmologist if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Minims Fluorescein passes into your breast milk. Minims Fluorescein is effective and safe for children above eight years of age. There may be a drug interaction between Minims Fluorescein and other drugs, such as other topical medications.
