Usage

Qtern (Dapagliflozin/Saxagliptin Hydrochloride) is a combined prescription medicine to lower the high glucose level (hyperglycemia) in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The active ingredients in Qtern are Dapagliflozin and Saxagliptin Hydrochloride. Dapagliflozin and Saxagliptin Hydrochloride are antidiabetics belonging to the class of Dipeptyl Peptidase-IV Inhibitors and SGLT2 Inhibitors. Dapagliflozin reduces glucose absorption, lowers the renal threshold for glucose, and promotes glucose excretion through the urine. Saxagliptin Hydrochloride slows the inactivation of the incretin hormones, causing a rise in incretin bloodstream concentrations, which leads to reduced fasting and postprandial glucose concentrations. Maintaining a healthy blood sugar level prevents serious problems such as blindness, ketoacidosis, and diabetic foot ulcers associated with untreated diabetes mellitus.

The common side effects of Qtern are sudden hypoglycemia, nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, and light-headedness. Stop using Qtern and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
