Suvexx Information

Suvexx Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Suvexx from Canada manufactured by Aralez Pharma. The generic version is not available. Our customers may also purchase other Migraine Medication such as Amerge and Cafergot Tablets

Dosage

Suvexx is available in the strength of 85 mg/500 mg tablets only.

Usage

Suvexx (Sumatriptan/Naproxen) is a prescription medication used to treat migraine headaches with or without aura (warning signs that occur before the onset of a migraine). The active ingredients in Suvexx are Sumatriptan and Naproxen. Sumatriptan belongs to a class of drugs called selective serotonin receptor agonists (also called "triptans"). Naproxen belongs to a group of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Sumatriptan relieves migraine headaches by constricting these blood vessels. Naproxen stops the body from producing chemicals that cause pain and swelling. You should know that Suvexx is not recommended for other types of headaches or headache prevention.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Suvexx are flushing, feelings of tingling or numbness, nausea, stomach pain, tiredness, weakness, drowsiness, or dizziness may occur.

Stop using Suvexx and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Blurred vision or vision changes;
• Difficulty urinating;
• Nausea that seems too severe for your migraine;
• Seizures;
• Symptoms of serotonin syndrome include shivering, confusion, excessive sweating, fast heartbeat, sudden jerking hallucinations, restlessness, and shaking of muscles.

Warnings and Interactions

Before you start taking this Suvexx tablet for migraine, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to Suvexx or NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, ketorolac, diclofenac) or if you have other allergies. It is essential to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. This medication comes as a tablet and should be taken by mouth. It is usually taken at the first sign of a migraine headache. You should not use more than two doses within 24 hours, and these two doses must be taken at least 2 hours apart. The dosage is based on your medical condition, age, and response to treatment. If there is no improvement in your symptoms, do not take more doses of this medication before talking to your doctor. This medication may raise your blood pressure. You should check your blood pressure regularly to know if this medication has affected your blood pressure.

Kidney problems can sometimes occur with regular NSAID medications, including naproxen. Problems are more likely to occur if you are dehydrated, have heart failure, or have kidney problems. It would be best to drink plenty of fluids as directed by your doctor to prevent dehydration or acute kidney injury and tell your doctor right away if you have a change in the amount of urine. This medication may make you drowsy or dizzy. Do not drive a car or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.

Before you start using Suvexx, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Active bleeding into the stomach or bowels;
• Heart disease;
• Hemiplegic or basilar migraines;
• History of stroke;
• Kidney disease;
• Uncontrolled hypertension

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or breastfeeding a baby. This medication should not be used during the third trimester if pregnant. If you become pregnant while taking this medication, contact your doctor immediately. The active components of Suvexx (Sumatriptan succinate and Naproxen sodium) are secreted in human breast milk. These drugs pass into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on the baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Suvexx and other drugs such as Cyclosporine, Fentanyl, metformin, Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, tranylcypromine), alcohol, and Acetylsalicylic acid, e.g., mesalamine, sulfasalazine.
