Usage

Nextstellis (Estetrol Monohydrate/Drospirenone) is a prescription oral contraceptive used by females to prevent pregnancy. Nextstellis a combination medication containing two hormones Estetrol (estrogen) and Drospirenone (progestin). Nextstellis pill is made with Estetrol which is found naturally in the body. The Estetrol in Nextellis is produced from a plant source. This medication works by preventing ovulation during a menstrual cycle. It also makes the vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from fertilization and changes the lining of the uterus to prevent a fertilized egg from attachment. Nextstellis may also make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, and decrease your risk of ovarian cysts.

Side Effects and Precautions

The most common side effects of Nextstellis may include acne, breast pain or discomfort, decreased sex drive, headache, irregular vaginal bleeding, mood changes, painful periods, and weight gain.

Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• A severe headache unlike your usual headaches;
• Chest pain;
• Leg pain that will not go away;
• Shortness of breath;
• Sudden change in vision or blindness;

Nextstellis does not protect again HIV or AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. This medication may not work as well if you have a BMI of 30 or higher.
