Usage

Wixela Inhub Inhalation Powder (Fluticasone Propionate/Salmeterol) is used to control and prevent symptoms of wheezing and shortness of breath caused by asthma or ongoing lung disease in people aged four years and older. Wixela Inhub is used in adults and children with asthma that is not well controlled with an asthma control medication or inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) medication and need both an ICS and long-acting beta-adrenergic agonist (LABA) medication. The Wixela Inhub 250/50 mcg is a twice-daily prescription medication used long term to treat COPD, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or both for better breathing and fewer flare-ups. This medication is not used to relieve sudden breathing problems from asthma or COPD and won't replace a rescue inhaler.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Wixela Inhub inhalation powder may include headache, signs of a common cold, throat irritation, and upset stomach or throwing up. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Changes in blood lab test;
• Eye problems (glaucoma, cataracts, vision changes);
• Fungal infection in your mouth or throat;
• Heart problems;
• Nervous system problems;
• Pneumonia;
• Reduced adrenal function;
• Serious allergic reactions;
• Slowed growth in children;
• Sudden breathing problems immediately after inhaling your medication;

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Wixela Inhub if you are allergic to Fluticasone Propionate, Salmeterol, or to any of the ingredients in Wixela Inhub and if you have severe allergy to milk proteins. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history especially if you:

There may be a drug interaction between Flucaticasone and Salmeterol and other medications such as medications that contain LABA, ritonavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole, MAOIs, ticyclic antidepressants, beta-blockers, and diuretics, etc. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
