Usage

Cresemba (Isavuconazole, as Isavuconazonium Sulfate) is a prescription medication used to treat infections caused by certain types of fungus. Isavuconazole is an antifungal medication that works by stopping the growth of fungi. Cresemba should only be taken by patients who are 18 years of age and older.

Side Effects

The common Cresemba side effects may include abdominal pain, back pain, constipation, diarrhea, headache, low potassium, nausea, and vomiting. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any of the serious side effects that may include:

Talk to your doctor about all the medications you take including prescriptions, OTC and herbal medications. Also tell them about any vitamins and supplements you take. There may be a drug interaction between Cresemba and other medications, especially: rifampin, ritonavir (at high doses), and St. John's wort. Cresemba should not be used if you are breastfeeding. This medication can pass into your breast milk and may harm your baby. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
