Usage

Bravecto (Fluralaner) is a prescription pet medication used for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations, treatment and control of tick infestations for 12 weeks in dogs and puppies 6 months of age and above, weighing 4.4 pounds or greater. The active substance in Bravecto is Fluralaner. Fluralaner belongs to the class of medicine called Isoxazolines and acts as an ectoparasite. Fluralaner kills fleas, ticks, and mites that have ingested the dog's or cat's blood by acting on their nervous system. This results in uncontrolled activity of the nervous system and the paralysis and death of the parasites. It kills fleas before they can lay eggs and helps reduce contamination of the dogs' or cats' environment. Bravecto kills fleas within 8 hours and ticks within 12 hours in dogs.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Bravecto are mild and short-lived diarrhea, vomiting, lack of appetite, and drooling. The most common side effect of the spot-on solution is a mild, short-lived skin reaction at the application site, such as erythema (redness) and pruritus (itching) or hair loss.

If you notice any unexpected effects, consult your veterinary doctor immediately for proper care of your pet.

Stop using Bravecto for your pet and contact your veterinarian right away if you notice any of the severe side effects such as:
