Product Details

Kisqali a cancer medication used to treat hormone-related breast cancer in women. It works by interfering with the growth and spread of cancer. This medication will only be prescribed if you test negative for a special protein called human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). Kisqali is generally prescribed if the breast cancer has progressed and already spread to other parts of the body. It may be used in combination with other cancer medications.

The common side effects of Kisqali includes: low white blood cell count, infection, cough, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tiredness, headache, and hair loss.

The more serious side effects may include:

• Fast or pounding heartbeats
• Liver problems
• Low white blood cell counts
• Shortness of breath
• Signs of allergic reaction
• Sudden dizziness

Precautions

You should not take Kisqali if you are allergic to Ribociclib Succinate, or if you take tamoxifen. Before you start taking Kisqali, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you currently take including OTC and herbal medications. This medication can cause harm to an unborn or nursing baby. You should not use this medication while you are pregnant or nursing. Kisqali may also affect fertility in men. Talk to your doctor about the risks. Be sure to take Kisqali exactly as your doctor describes for you. Kisqali is a 28-day treatment which provides medicine the first 21 days, followed by 7 days off. Swallow your tablet whole—do not crush, chew, or break it in any way. Store it in its original container at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Take it at the same time of day, with or without food. If you vomit after taking the medication, wait until the following da to take your next dose. Do not take an additional dose. You may need frequent medical tests to make sure Kisqali is not causing unwanted side effects.

1. Can I use Kisqali with other cancer medications?
Answer: Yes, this medication is often combined with other cancer medicines, such as Femara or Faslodex. Talk to your doctor about which ones are safe for you.

2. What if I have tested positive for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) proteins?
Answer: You can only use Kisqali if you have tested negative for HER2. This protein can speed the growth of cancer cells and should be treated differently.

3. Can men take Kisqali?
Answer: While this medication says it treats breast cancer in women, the fact is, some men also acquire breast cancer. Men can be prescribed this medication, if they meet certain criteria. Talk to your doctor to find out if you fit the bill. Also, be aware that this medication can cause infertility in men, so weigh up the risks before starting this medicine.
