Usage

Stendra (Avanafil) is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence. Avanafil belongs to the class of medications called phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors. This medication works by relaxing muscles found in the walls of blood vessels and increases blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation which can cause an erection.

• Nausea, pain, numbness or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw during sexual activity;
• Pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in one or both legs;
• Ringing in your ears or sudden hearing loss;
• Shortness of breath, swelling in your hands or feet;
• Vision changes or sudden vision loss

Warnings and Interactions

You should not take Stendra if you are allergic to Avanafil, or if you take:
• Medicine to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, such as riociguat;

Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history especially if you have ever had:
• A blood cell disorder (sickle cell anemia, leukemia);
• A stomach ulcer;
• Bleeding problems;
• Hearing or vision problems;
• Heart problems (angina, heart attack or heart failure or heart surgery, stroke);
• If you have been told not to have sexual intercourse for health reasons;
• Liver or kidney disease;
• Low blood pressure;
• Peyronie's disease;
• Priapism (an erection that is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours);
• Retinitis pigmentosa

Stendra does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Always use an effective barrier method such as a condom during all sexual activity. Stendra is for use in men only. Drinking alcohol can increase the side effects of Avanafil. Avoid drinking more than three alcoholic beverages while you are taking Stendra. Avoid use of grapefruit and grapefruit products as it may interact with Avanafil and lead to unwanted side effects. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Avanafil and other medications such as other ED medications, antibiotics, antifungal medications, drugs to treat high blood pressure or prostate disorder, nitrates, hepatitis C medication, HIV or AIDS medications, etc. Stendra should not be taken by women or children.
