Generic name: Polyethylene Glyco
Use: Occasional constipation

PolyLax is used to treat occasional constipation, and a prescription is not required for this over the counter medication. The active ingredient in PolyLax is called Polyethylene glycol, which is an osmotic-type laxative. It works by holding water in the stool to soften the stool and increases the number of bowel movements, thus relieving constipation.
