Usage

Atopica (Cyclosporine) is a prescription medication used to treat chronic atopic dermatitis (a skin reaction caused by contact with an allergen) in dogs weighing at least 4 lbs (1.8 kg) body weight. The active ingredient in Atopica is Cyclosporine. Cyclosporine belongs to the class of medicine called immunomodulators (calcineurin inhibitors). This means that it acts to alter the immune system to stop it from overreacting to these allergens. Cyclosporine is different from other drugs that alter the immune system as it has an action specific to the skin and does not act on the rest of the body. So, if your dog is constantly scratching or licking, it may suffer from atopic dermatitis and benefit from Atopica soft capsule.
