Symbicort Turbuhaler Information: Symbicort (budesonide/ formoterol) contains the corticosteroid budesonide and rapid and long-acting bronchodilator formoterol in a single inhaler ( Turbuhaler ).
Symbicort is indicated in the regular treatment of asthma where use of a combination of inhaled corticosteroid and long acting beta-agonist is appropriate. It offers adjustable dosing which enables doctors to tailor a patient's treatment.
Symbicort is available as an inhaled formulation, Symbicort Turbuhaler , in both standard dose (160/4.5mcg) and low-dose (80/4.5mcg) strengths. Symbicort Turbuhaler is currently approved in 85 countries and launched in 62 markets.
Symbicort Turbuhaler Side Effects:
Symbicort® provides the inhaled corticosteroid budesonide (Pulmicort®) and the fast-acting, long-lasting bronchodilator formoterol (Oxeze®) in a single inhaler. Symbicort® is the first and only asthma combination treatment that allows patients to adjust their dose at the first sign of worsening, to maintain asthma control without adding or switching inhalers. The single inhaler approach to asthma treatment is anticipated to be approved by Health Canada in 2005.
