Desowen Information:

Desonide or Desocort Lotion is manufactured by Galderma Canada and is available in two sizes. Desowen (Desonide) is a corticosteroid used to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions. Desowen (Desonide) does not cure the cause of these problems but can quickly relieve the symptoms by interfering with the production of various substances in the body that cause these skin disorders. Desowen (Desonide) is for external use only.

Desowen Side Effects:

Possible side effects that can develop when using Desowen (Desonide) are: lack of healing of skin condition; painful, red, pus-filled blisters in hair follicles; severe burning and continued itching of the skin; thinning of the skin with easy bruising. If any of these develop you should notify your physician as soon as possible. Other side effects are burning, itching, or irritation of the skin, increased redness or scaling of the skin.

Desowen Precautions:

Do NOT take Desowen (Desonide) if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this medication. If your symptoms do not improve or become worse, check with your physician. Avoid getting Desowen (Desonide) in your eyes or on the inside of your nose or mouth.
