Usage

CombiPatch (Estradiol/Norethindrone Acetate) is a prescription medication used to treat the symptoms menopause such as hot flashes, burning, and dryness. It can also be used before menopause to treat a lack of estrogen caused by hypogonadism, primary ovarian failure, or surgical removal of the ovaries. It is a combination medication in a transdermal patch that gives the patient a dosage of estradiol and norethindrone. Estradiol is a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone that regulates many processes of the body. Norethindrone is a form a progesterone, a female hormone that regulates ovulation and menstruation. Side Effects

The common side effects of CombiPatch may include breast tenderness or enlargement, headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, swelling of the hand/feet, vomiting, weakness, skin irritation or rash or redness at the site of application. • Certain cancer;
• Heart attack or stroke;
• Hysterectomy (uterus removed);
• Liver problems

Combipatch should not be used to prevent heart disease, dementia, or stroke. Using this medication may cause serious problems such as blood clots, heart attack, stroke, cancer of the breast, or uterus. Use of this medication may also increase your chances of getting dementia if you are a woman 65 years or older. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions including if you are going to have surgery and about all the medications you take including prescriptions, OTC and herbal medications. Also tell them about any vitamins and supplements you take. Estradiol can pass into breast milk. CombiPatch may slow breast milk production. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding a baby.
