Paxil CR Information:

Paxil CR (Paroxetine) is a long acting antidepressant medication and classified as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or social anxiety disorder. DO NOT TAKE Paxil CR (Paroxetine) if you are also taking fenfluramine, dexfenfluramine, astemizole, terfenadine, sibutramine, tramadol, or monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). ADDITIONAL MONITORING of dose of Paxil CR (Paroxetine) OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking clozapine, cyproheptadine, lithium, selegiline, or tricyclic antidepressants. Other drugs besides which may affect the heart rhythm (QTc prolongation in the EKG) include dofetilide, pimozide, quinidine, sotalol, procainamide, and sparfloxacin among others. QTc prolongation can infrequently result in serious, rarely fatal, irregular heartbeats. Paxil CR (Paroxetine) may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. STORE Paxil CR (Paroxetine) at room temperature, away from heat and light. CONTINUE TO TAKE Paxil CR (Paroxetine) even if you feel better. AT LEAST 1 TO 2 WEEKS, and sometimes up to 4 weeks, may pass before Paxil CR (Paroxetine) reaches its full effect. DO NOT STOP TAKING Paxil CR (Paroxetine) without checking with your doctor.Paxil CR (Paroxetine) MAY CAUSE drowsiness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Paxil CR (Paroxetine). DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL while you are taking Paxil CR (Paroxetine).

Paxil CR Side Effects:

As with many medications, Paxil CR side effects also occur.Common Paxil CR side effects are nausea, which may be lessened by taking it with food. Other Paxil CR side effects may include injury, infection, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, sleepiness, dizziness, yawning, sweating, dry mouth, asthenia, insomnia, abnormal vision, and sexual side effects. If you should experience any Paxil CR side effects, be sure to report them to your healthcare provider as soon as possible and follow his/her advice.
