Usage

Emo Cort (Hydrocortisone) is a prescription medication used to temporarily relieve minor skin irritations caused by eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, soaps, detergents, or cosmetics. Emo Cort is also used to reduce redness, itching, swelling, or other discomfort caused by skin conditions. Emo Cort is a topical medicine and should only be applied to the skin. The active ingredient in Emo Cort is Hydrocortisone. Hydrocortisone belongs to a class of drugs called corticosteroids. It works by reducing redness, itching, and inflammation.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Emo Cort are skin lightening, spot or redness of the skin, acneiform reaction, burning sensation at the site of application, and skin rash.

Stop using Emo Cort and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Increased skin sensitivity;
• Painful, pus-containing blisters in hair follicles;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, including swelling of the face, throat, or mouth, breathing difficulties, severe skin rash;
• Skin atrophy or peeling;
• Stretch marks;
• Unintended weight gain;
• Worsening skin condition

Warnings and Interactions

Before using Emo Cort cream, inform your doctor if you are allergic to Hydrocortisone or any ingredient in Emo Cort. Emo Cort is a cream that should be applied to the affected area in a thin film not more than 2 to 3 times daily. Follow your prescription label carefully and discuss with your doctor if there is anything you do not understand about your medication. Do not allow the cream to reach your eyes, mouth, or nose. Wash your hands before and after applying Hydrocortisone cream. Do not use a non-breathing wrapping or bandage on the area where the medication has been applied unless instructed by your doctor. • Viral infections like chickenpox or herpes simplex
