Dosage

Arnuity Ellipta is available in the strength of 100 mcg/30 dose and 200 mcg/30 dry powder for oral inhalation. The dry powder is contained in a series of separate blisters and is delivered by the Ellipta inhaler. Each inhaler contains 30 doses (one inhalation per day for 30 days).

Usage

Arnuity Ellipta is an inhaled corticosteroid used in adults and children who are 5 years and older . This medication contains the active ingredient fluticasone propionate, a corticosteroids. It has anti-inflammatory action and helps to reduce inflammation in the airways of the lungs and thus ease breathing problems. This medicine does not cure asthma but helps to prevent and control its symptoms. Arnuity Ellipta must be used regularly to be effective. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden asthma attacks. For sudden asthma attacks, use a rescue inhaler.

Side Effects

Let your doctor know if you have the following signs:
• Liver problems: nausea, loss of appetite, dark urine, right upper stomach pain, jaundice;
• Blood vessel inflammation: fever, cough, stomach pain, skin rash, tingling feeling, numbness, chest pain;
• Nausea, vomiting, unexplained weakness or feeling like you may faint;
• Severe wheezing or choking feeling after using this inhaler;
• Changes in vision such as blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain, or seeing halos around lights

Fluticasone can affect growth in children. Let the pediatrician know if your child is not growing t a normal rate while using this inhaler.

Common side effects of Arnuity Ellipta include:
• Low-grade fever, wheezing;
• Cold symptoms such as sneezing, sore throat, and stuffy nose;
• Headache;
• Hoarseness;
• White patches or sores inside your mouth;
• Nausea, vomiting;
• Upset stomach

Warnings and Interactions

Signs of Arnuity Ellipta allergy: difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER). Arnuity Ellipta is not a rescue inhaler. It does not work fast to treat an asthma attack. You should seek medical attention immediately if your breathing gets worse quickly.

Arnuity Ellipta should be used exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The usual dose is one inhalation through the mouth once a day. Use this inhaler every 24 hours, at about the same time each day. It is important to continue using Arnuity Ellipta even if you do not have any symptoms.

Your doctor may need to change your dose if you have surgery, are under stress, or if you recently had an asthma attack.

To prevent a yeast infection, rinse your mouth with water after each inhalation. Do not swallow the water. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Talk to your doctor before using this medication if you are breast-feeding. You should also tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including prescription, OTC, and herbal medications. There may be a drug interaction between Arnuity Ellipta and other medications, especially if you take the following medications:
• An antibiotic;
• An antifungal drug;
• HIV/AIDS medicine;
• Steroid medicine
