Usage

Atripla (Efavirenz/Emtricitabine/Tenofovir) is a prescription medication used alone or in combination with other medications to treat HIV infection in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. Atripla belongs to the class of medications called antiretrovirals. This medication helps to decrease the amount of viral load in your body so your immune system can work better. Atripla lowers your chance of getting HIV complications and improves the quality of life. Atripla does not cure HIV infection and it does not reduce the risk of passing HIV to others through sexual contact or blood contamination. Take this medication exactly as prescribed; skipping or changing doses may cause an increase of viral loads which can worsen the infection.

Side Effects and Precautions
