Diprolene (Betamethasone Dipropionate) is a prescription medication used to treat various skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, allergies, and skin rash. Betamethasone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these conditions. The active ingredient in Diprolene is Betamethasone Dipropionate. Betamethasone Dipropionate belongs to the class of medications called corticosteroids. It works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching.

The common side effects of Diprolene are skin atrophy, striae formation, dry skin, burning sensation at the site of application, the inflamed hair follicle (folliculitis), changes in skin colour, hypertrichosis, and acneiform lesions.

• Blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain, or seeing halos around lights;

Warnings and Interactions

Before using Diprolene topical cream, inform your doctor if you are allergic to it or currently using steroid-containing lotion or ointment for your condition. • Cataract or glaucoma;
• Diabetes mellitus;
• Kidney problems;
• Liver problems

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Diprolene can harm the unborn baby. Infants born to mothers who have been using this medication for an extended period may have low levels of corticosteroid hormone. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice symptoms such as nausea or vomiting that doesn't stop, severe diarrhea, or weakness in your newborn. It may not be safe to breastfeed a baby while using this Diprolene topical cream/ointment or lotion. Ask your doctor about any risks. There may be a drug interaction between Diprolene and other drugs such as mifepristone, birth control pills, diabetes medications, estrogen hormone replacement, and aspirin-like medicine. Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.
