Chemical Name: Captopril/Hydrochlorothiazide

Capozide Information: Capozide is used mainly for treating high blood pressure. It decreases a chemical that tightens blood vessels and helps the kidneys eliminate excess fluid from the body, causing the blood vessels to dilate and lower blood pressure. Avoid using Capozide if you are allergic to any ingredients, if you are in your second or third trimester of pregnancy, if you’ve had severe allergic reactions to any other ACE inhibitor, if you are taking dextran sulfate, dofetilide, or ketanserin, or if you are unable to urinate. A doctor should be consulted if you have any other medical conditions or are taking any other medications.
Capozide Side Effects: Common side effects include cough, diarrhea, dizziness/lightheadedness, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, nausea, taste changes, or vomiting. Severe side effects include, severe allergic reactions, blurred vision, chest pain, confusion, difficulty swallowing, fainting, fever or sore throat, joint or muscle pain, cramps, tremors, restlessness, seizures, irregular heartbeat, stomach pain, dryness of the mouth, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
