Product Details

Flarex (Fluormetholone) is a steroid medication used to treat eye inflammation after eye surgery, injury, or other conditions. It works by reducing the swelling, pain, and redness and allowing the eye to get back to normal.

Common side effects may include mild stinging or burning, feeling like you have something in your eye, red or puffy eyelids, blurred vision, or drooping eyelids. The serious side effects may include:

• Pain behind your eyes
• Seeing halos around lights
• Signs of allergic reaction
• Signs of new eye infections
• Slow healing after eye surgery
• Sudden vision changes
• Tunnel vision

You should not use Flarex if you are allergic to Fluormetholone or if you have any type of bacterial, fungal, or viral infection of the eye. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. It isn’t known whether or not Flarex will have an effect on an unborn baby. However, you should not breastfeed while on Flarex. Precautions

Follow your doctor’s advice and follow all medication guidelines for your medication. Use it exactly as prescribed. Wash your hands before and after using this medication. Shake the eyedrops well before each use. Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a pocket. Squeeze one drop into the pocket and close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Do not touch the eyedropper to your eye. Be sure to follow your doctor’s instructions on how to taper off your dose. Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Close the bottle tightly and do not allow it to freeze. Call your doctor if you do not see improvement within 2 days of treatment. If you need to use Flarex longer than 10 days, you may need to have frequent vision tests to check the pressure inside your eye.

Do not use this medication while wearing contact lenses. A preservative in the medication may permanently stain them. Wait at least 15 minutes after administering Flarex before putting in contacts. There may be an interaction between Flarex and other medications. Talk to your doctor before you use other medications while on Flarex. To ensure this medication is right for you, be sure to tell your doctor if you have any health problems that have been treated in the past, including:
