Usage

Aggrenox (Dipyridamole/ASA) is a prescription medication that is prescribed to reduce pain and inflammation in various illnesses, and is also directed to reduce the risk of stroke in patients who have had blood clots or a "mini stroke". The active ingredients are aspirin, which is a salicylate and works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain, fever and inflammation. Dipyridamole is the second active ingredient which stops platelets in the blood from sticking together.

The most common Aggrenox side effects may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, heartburn, nausea and vomiting.

To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. This medication may make you dizzy. Alcohol or marijuana can make you dizzier. Limit alcohol and stop smoking. Daily use of alcohol and tobacco while using this medication may increase your risk of stomach bleeding. This medication contains aspirin. Children and teenagers younger than 18 years old should not take aspirin if they have chickenpox, flu, or any undiagnosed illness or recently received a vaccine. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. There may be a drug interaction between Aggrenox and other medications such as prednisone, mifepristone, ginkgo biloba, clopidogrel, ibuprofen, naproxen, warfarin, dabigatran and riociguat. Store Aggrenox capsules at room temperature away from light and moisture away from children and pets. Do not store in the bathroom.
