Chemical Name: Irbesartan
|
Avapro Information: AVAPRO from Canada (Irbesartan) is an angiotensin II receptor blocker used to treat high blood pressure. AVAPRO from Canada (Irbesartan) may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. AVAPRO from Canada (Irbesartan) and AVALIDE can be taken with or without meals. AVAPRO from Canada (Irbesartan) provides starting dose efficacy regardless of age, race, or gender (the blood pressure effect was somewhat less in blacks (usually a low-renin population). The switch from AVAPRO from Canada (Irbesartan) monotherapy to AVALIDE 150/12.5 mg resulted in the largest increment in blood pressure reduction (AVALIDE 300/12.5 mg and 300/25 mg QD result in additional BP reductions). Overall blood pressure response with AVALIDE was similar in black and non-black patients (black patients had a larger response to HCTZ than non-black patients, and a smaller response to irbesartan). AVALIDE requires no dosage adjustment in elderly patients.
Avapro Side Effects: NO COMMON AVAPRO side effects HAVE BEEN REPORTED . If you notice any unusual AVAPRO side effects, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
